FAA Medical Issues / LASIK Procedure
This procedure is approved by the
FAA but requires documentation
prior to medical certificate issuance.
|The LASER is aligned||Clamp is inserted to prevent blinking||The iris is marked for the Keratome||First attempt to seal the Keratome base|
|Second try with the Keratome||Another Keratome is tried||Attaching the Keratome head containing the blade that will cut the corneal flap||More detail of the blade being attached|
|Starting the cut of the corneal flap||Starting to lay the flap back out of the way||Smoothing the flap after laying it out of the way||The invisible LASER is firing|
|45 seconds later - the flap is replaced||A rinse is applied||Lightly smoothing the flap into place so it will heal||Procedure complete|
