The
initial presentation of a prostate condition requires an evaluation be performed
to establish your eligibility for FAA medical certification. This includes: prostate
cancer, benign
prostatic hypertrophy (BPH), and the use of medication to
prevent or treat these conditions.
FAA evaluations must be
accomplished in compliance with a specific medical protocol.
Authorization
must be obtained from the Aeromedical Certification Division of the FAA in
Oklahoma City. Typically Aviation Medical Examiners (AME's) will not
approve certification and will defer your application to Oklahoma City FAA. The
deferral process usually takes 4-6 months without our
service.
